Rick Schreiber has over 25 years of public accounting experience advising manufacturing and distribution companies.  His clients have included both domestic and international public and private entities, with a focus on aggressive growth middle market companies.  He has significant experience with initial public offerings, secondary debt offerings, and mergers and acquisitions.  Rick also provides transformational value growth consulting to his clients. 

 

Prior to joining BDO, Rick worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers for 10 years and provided assurance & advisory services in a number of their practice offices including Charlotte, NC, Philadelphia, PA, San Jose, CA, and Indianapolis, IN.  Before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, Rick worked for a boutique accounting firm and provided assurance, tax, and broad-based business advisory services.

 

Rick has authored various accounting and industry related articles and routinely participates in speaking engagements, presentations and industry symposiums.  He is also frequently quoted as an expert in various publications and media channels such as the Wall Street Journal, Chief Executive, Industry Week,

Manufacturing.net, Inc., and the Dow Jones Private Equity Analyst. Rick is also considered a thought leader with regards to the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0.

Andy Storm has been with Eckhart, Inc since 2015 and is responsible for helping the world’s largest industrial companies adopt Industry 4.0 by accelerating the integration and use of advanced manufacturing solutions that include autonomous guided vehicles, collaborative robots, additive manufacturing, micro sensor/spatial positioning systems, and highly engineered ergonomic lift-assist & secure tools. 

 

Andy earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration (Industrial Management) and Mechanical Engineering Technology from Michigan Technological University and as a Leaders for Manufacturing Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology earned an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Business and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Systems from the MIT School of Engineering.  He is on the Board of Directors of Eckhart Holdings Company and serves on multiple boards. 

David Carlson leads the US Manufacturing and Automotive Industry Practice for Marsh and is based in Cleveland, Ohio. David is responsible for building and growing the practice and ensuring consistent delivery of Marsh’s industry-leading products and solutions to address the seismic shifts that innovation and the mobility ecosystem are bringing to Marsh’s manufacturing and automotive clients on a global basis.

David joined Marsh in 2003 as a Risk Consultant focusing on the manufacturing & automotive sector. David previously spent five years as the Group Manager of environmental, health and safety for an international manufacturer of specialty fasteners.

While at his previous employer, David was responsible for developing and implementing environmental, health and safety and risk management programs for reducing the “total cost of risk” for various manufacturing operations domestically and internationally. This included coordinating regulatory compliance activities for ten manufacturing facilities across the globe with regard to OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, and other applicable governing agencies. David also worked as the EHS manager for 5 years at a global automotive Tier I supplier that specializes in injection molding, extrusion molding, painting/coatings and fabrication of automotive parts.


Shawn Crowley is currently the Vice President and Managing Partner at Atomic Object, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Shawn leads a wide variety of strategic initiatives across the company’s locations, including its Grand Rapids office. In addition to his strategic role in the organization, Shawn also co-manages Atomic's Grand Rapids office, and is often the first point of contact with clients to help them develop plans for custom software product development

Richard (Rick) VandeKopple is the Vice President of Global Quality of ADAC Automotive.  He has been with ADAC for 17 years holding various positions in manufacturing, engineering, quality and innovation. Rick is part of the Executive Team for ADAC Automotive.

 

ADAC Automotive is a privately held, tier-one automotive parts supplier headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  ADAC, founded in 1975, manufactures molded and painted interior and exterior door handles, exterior mirrors, as well as exterior trim from their facilities located in West Michigan.  Today, ADAC has North American sales over $300 Million and employs 1,200 people.

 

Through its partnership in the VAST (Vehicle Access Systems Technology) alliance with WITTE Automotive of Germany and STRATTEC SECURITY CORPORATION of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, ADAC has developed their global footprint to serve automotive customers worldwide.  Through this alliance, ADAC has manufacturing facilities in Mexico, Brazil, Europe, India and China, along with sales and engineering offices in Japan and Korea.  Rick serves as executive mentor to global manufacturing operations and is part of the Global Quality Team.

 

Rick graduated from the University of Michigan in 1981 with a bachelor degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering. 

Scott Sadler is focused on blending the digital and physical environments at Steelcase, allowing people to be more engaged and satisfied with their work.  Every day he gets to collaborate with world leading developers, designers, researchers, and data scientists to deliver new products that are setting pace in the smart building movement.    

 

As Category Manager, Scott’s time is focused on new product development, where he is leading a team of the industry's most talented product owners.  By creating a cloud platform and sensing ecosystem tailored for the workplace, Steelcase is leveraging big data, building analytics, and artificial intelligence to transform today's workplace into a smart and connected environment. 

Greg graduated from Grand Valley State University with a B.S. in Computer Engineering and from Michigan State University with a M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering. He specialized in embedded systems design, data mining, and pattern recognition.

 

Greg started his career at GE Aviation Systems in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He was part of GE’s rotational leadership development program called the Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP).  During that time he spent 3 years rotating around the GE Aviation business, taking on a variety of roles in software engineering, embedded systems engineering, and program management.  After graduating the EEDP program he primarily worked in Platform Software, but also spent time coaching teams on implementing Agile Software Development methodologies.  It was during this role that he became a member of the Scrum Alliance and became Scrum Master certified. 

 

After 7 years at GE Greg joined a software startup named Modustri.  Modustri was developing an IoT solution to simplify and streamline the inspection process for the Heavy Duty Equipment (HDE) industry.   During his time at Modustri he worked on IoT projects for retail and Heavy Duty Equipment focused on location tracking systems.   

 

Now with DornerWorks, Greg is part of the IoT Team specializing in the firmware side of connected products.  He has worked on a variety of connected products for the automotive and medical industries. 

Alison Houston is a Manufacturing Manager within the Advanced Manufacturing group at Ford Motor Company. She is a part of a cross functional team consisting of Digital Engineering, Manufacturing Analytics, Additive Manufacturing, Process Innovation and Advanced Controls & Digital Factory, with a focus on advancing Manufacturing 4.0. 

 

Alison has experience in a variety of roles, namely as an ergonomic engineer.  Alison helped role out 3D workstation design within the manufacturing team as part of the organizations move to digitization.  Most recently, Alison was a part of the Digital Engineering/Virtual Assembly team.

 

In her current role, Alison and her team are advancing automation of complex decision making into analytical solutions that can be utilized across the business enterprise.

Harry has been with working for Ford Motor Co. for over 24 years. He has held a number of positions in Manufacturing Operations and Engineering.  Currently, he is the Manufacturing Engineering Manager for Advanced Controls and Digital Factory.

Dr. Tracey Wilen is a prominent thought leader on the impact of technology on society, work, and careers. A former visiting scholar at Stanford University, she has held Manufacturing positions at Apple, HP, Cisco, and Strategy positions at the Apollo Group.

 

Dr. Wilen has authored 12 books, including her upcoming book Digital Disruption, The Future of Work, Skills, Leadership, Education and Careers in a Digital World (2018), Employed for Life, 21st. Century Career Trends (2014), Women Lead: Career Perspectives from Workplace Leaders (2013) and Society 3.0: How Technology Is Reshaping Education, Work, and Society (2012). She has appeared on CNN, Fox, and CBS News, and in the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, Forbes, the Los Angeles Times, and USA Today. She frequently contributes to the Huffington Post, the Examiner, and the Christian Science Monitor, and weekly appears on radio shows across the US as an expert guest.

 

Dr. Wilen is a global speaker on the impact of technology on work, careers, and women’s leadership. Dr. Wilen was named San Francisco Woman of the Year and honored by the San Francisco Business Times as the most Influential Woman in Bay Area Business in 2012.

Everette Binger serves as Senior IoT Architect on a cross functional team consisting of Marketing, Digital, Enterprise Analytics and R&D.  This teams mission is to investigate the opportunities/relevance of what the IoT industry may bring to Amway.

  

Everette has been with Amway since 2004, working most of his career in the CRM space while recently spending the last 3 years in the Digital Innovations portion of the organization.  While working in this team, Everette helped align parts of the Amway organization to realize the value of adding IoT/digital extensions to some of Amway’s physical products including Amway’s first internet connected device, our Atmosphere Sky Air Treatment System.  Everette also lead a team in the selection of Amway’s first IoT platform, built using AWS IoT as well as a few other technologies.

Jeff Kwiatkowski is Director of Business Intelligence and project management for USF Holland.  Jeff has enjoyed being in data analytics and business intelligence for nearly 20 years.  Jeff has seen the data warehouse / data analytics area mature from simple data marts, to large enterprise data warehouses, to big data, and IOT.  Jeff truly believes in making data driven decisions and lives it through managing the project management team at USF Holland.

Ryan Anderson serves as Vice President of Product Marketing and Workplace Strategy at Teem, helping to bring cloud-based software solutions to Teem customers that improve workplace experiences and optimize the use of real estate. 

Previously, Ryan spent twenty-three years in the office furniture industry, where his work focused on exploring the relationship between emerging technologies and the future workplace. While at Herman Miller, Ryan launched the company’s first IoT solution, Live OS, and led a team exploring how to better support technology in the workplace with research partners such as Skype, Google, Samsung and HP. While at Steelcase, he launched the company’s first collaborative technology solution, media:scape.

Aaron Kamphuis has a 20+ year career in application development and software testing with a strong background leading development teams in the use of cutting-edge technologies to satisfy unique business and end user requirements.

Aaron’s career has included stints with Sagestone Consulting Inc. where he worked with partners to build out 65+ people for a multi-million-dollar software development services organization. 

At OST, Aaron and his teammates have worked with clients to build global scale Connected Products (IoT) solutions and Data Analytics solutions for packaged software for companies that range from large multi-national enterprises to small businesses.  Some of these customers include Johnson Controls, Herman Miller, Spectrum Health and Amway Corp.

Michael Lomonaco joined OST in 2011.  He served as the Marketing Manager for three years before being promoted to Director of Marketing and Communications in 2014.   On any given day you can find him connecting the OST and OpenDigital stories, volunteering in the community and enjoying all that life has to offer with his wife, Jaimie and their two children, Michael & Luciana.

Michael honed his marketing and communications skills while attending Michigan State University. His career has included positions in local, state and federal political and policy work, corporate and nonprofit consulting, and customer relations, public relations, and marketing in the manufacturing sector.  These days, Michael leads the Marketing and Communications team at OST. In this role he is responsible for leading OST’s brand strategy, marketing programs, insights, and public relations. He has a passion for creating wild outcomes and experiences through his abilities to connect and strategize across the organization, with customers and partners.

Michael also has a deep connection to service and can be found working with any number of the boards of directors he serves – Make-A-Wish Michigan, John Ball Zoo, Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, Grand Rapids West Side CID Board, and the Van Andel Institute J-Board.  In addition, he advises and volunteers for a handful of community-based groups as well as local, state and federal advocacy efforts.  In 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017 Michael was selected as one of Grand Rapids’ “Top 40 Under Forty” business and community leaders.

Marc Fabbo is currently a Sr. Solutions Engineer with MapR where he helps customers learn about Big Data and how they can harness the power of it for their businesses. He came to this role after an 18 year career with Teradata where the majority of his focus was helping customers realize value from their investment in data warehouse technology. During his career he has held a variety of positions in including Engineering Director, Product Manager, Professional Services Partner, and Solution Architect.

Pavan Muzumdar is the Chief Operating Officer of Automation Alley where is responsible for facilitating the smooth functioning of the organization and enabling to execute its strategic goals with excellence and realize its vision. Automation Alley is Michigan’s leading technology business association, connecting businesses with talent, resources and funding to accelerate innovation and fuel Southeast Michigan’s economy. Automation Alley focuses its efforts in five areas: advanced manufacturing, defense, entrepreneurship, international business and talent development.

Pavan is also the Founder and Managing Director of PCS Insight, a company dedicated to making organizations more effective and prosperous by reducing human friction.  It accomplishes this mission by helping companies implement icube™ a system and method that enables them to articulate their vision, craft a compelling strategy, and execute for excellence.

PCS Insight executes its mission in collaboration with its strategic partner MVS Alliance, a company dedicated to streamlining information management needs of entrepreneurial and growing companies.  Pavan also serves as the CEO of MVS Alliance.

Pavan is a CFA charter holder, has master's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts, and a bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Bombay.

Ryan Crandell is a Welding Engineer and Innovation Team Member at DeWys Manufacturing. He has a Bachelor of Science & Welding Engineering Technology from Ferris State University and is a Certified Welding Inspector & Welding Educator through the American Welding Society (AWS).

 

Ryan also serves on the board of the local AWS West Michigan Chapter. With a passion for automation and robotics Ryan has also attained training certificates for Fanuc, Yaskawa, and ABB robots.

 

Ryan has been part of the welding and manufacturing industry for 10 years and has held jobs at production, small team leadership, and engineering levels. Ryan is currently working tirelessly with the Innovation Team to increase earned hours through automation including arc welding, machine tending, forming, and other applications.

Jason Freiburger is an Area Manager at GHSP Grand Haven in charge of a large manufacturing business stream including operations and technical staff. Jason has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with an electrical concentration from Olivet Nazarene University and he is certified in both Fanuc robotics and PLC programming.

 

He is also experienced in manufacturing engineering, CNC machining, blow molding, robotic plastic cutting and hot plate welding, control panel wiring, and machine building. Jason has designed and implemented new controls networks with fiber backbone to improve all data tracking in plants. Applications include Statistical Process Control, Lot trace, First Time Quality, Machine Faults, Key and Critical Parameters, barcode tracking, and part process data.

Joe Dyer is a Manufacturing Technical Solutions Team Lead at DISHER. Joe leads the Automation team offerings and has spoken on multiple occasions on the topic of the changing landscape of automation and how manufacturers should approach it.  He has experience in a variety of roles with an emphasis on manufacturing technologies.

 

He enjoys coaching the Manufacturing Technology team at DISHER and has a passion for people, productivity, and technology. Joe spent the first part of his career as a process and manufacturing engineer with CNC machining, design, and process/product development responsibilities.

 

He has also served customers in other roles with an emphasis on automation development, process, lean, manufacturing, project management, innovation facilitation, and quality.

Chris Winczewski is the Vice President of Product at Learning Machine, a blockchain-based credential platform. Chris first leveraged blockchain technology in a Digital Identity company he founded called Blueshift ID.

 

Prior to this, Chris was the Vice President of Strategy and Product Planning at X-Rite Pantone, a Danaher operating company. Chris is a Computer Engineer who practices reality-based innovation.

Skot Welch is the Principal/Founder of Global Bridgebuilders (GBB) A firm focusing on Organizational Development, Cultural Transformation and Inclusion. Global Bridgebuilders is an international team providing services to enterprises across the globe. GBB bases its work in the core belief that inclusion is a business discipline and that it should be leveraged across all that the enterprise does. Skot has been a global bridge builder long before he founded the company in 2006.
